Jimmy with Rich a few days/weeks after getting him. Jimmy was registered with the WBCS (Working Bearded Collie Society) as Elan Jim, born April 2, 2001. On Jimmy's father's side, the dogs have been in the family since 1963 and this line will occasionally throw out a short tailed puppy (bob-tailed).

This was Jimmy during the first week we had him. He was a little older than the usual age of 8 to 10 weeks that a pup goes to his new home. He was supposed to be going to live on a farm in Norway, but due to the foot and mouth outbreak, no animals could leave the country. Jimmy was one of the very few good things to come out of a very bad situation.

Jimmy is gathering Welsh Mules (a breed of sheep) so that Richard can take them to the sheep pens in order to put them through the foot bath. He was eighteen months old. The picture was taken August 12, 2002.

This is Jimmy at age two.  He has matured into a strong handsome dog.  Here he is surveying all his territory.

Jimmy in June 2003 looking very handsome. This is one of the pictures we send to other working Beardie owners that wish to consider using Jimmy as a stud dog.

Jimmy gathering up the Welsh Mule ewes and their lambs that are being brought in for worming.

Jimmy is bringing the geese into their shed. They have to be put in every night to protect them from the foxes. These geese after being fattened up will be sold for Christmas.

Photo taken June 2003.  Jimmy is working our Blue Faced Leicester ewes and lambs. I keep a few registered Blue Faced Leicester ewes to breed pedigree ram lambs from. These are then crossed with speckle faced and Welsh ewes to produce the famous Welsh Mule. Jimmy is working very well with a very good outrun, keeping to the edge of the field. He is full of work, a very good farm dog, and Richard's best friend.
